    In 1975 The Wishing Well was opened in Shelby, Mississippi, by Elizabeth Murphee after she purchased the long established Irene Shop which had served customers since the early 1900s.  In 1987 young entrepreneurs, Jo Parker and Susan Wiggins, wanted to start a retail business; so when the opportunity arose to buy The Wishing Well they jumped. In 1994, they moved to the fashionable and trendy Cotton Row in historic downtown Cleveland, Mississippi. The store quickly developed a following from Memphis to the Gulf Coast,  west across the river and east to neighboring states.  After 28 years in business, Jo and Susan sold The Wishing Well to Sarah Aylward who purchased the store with the goal of maintaining the same quality clothing while adding her own personal style and new lines. Today The Wishing Well still serves the Delta and has a following throughout the South.  After years of customers' requesting a website, we developed one and now ship fashion all over the United States.
